About Us
Who we are
Kach-up Learning Hub is a Ugandan organisation that works to bring foundational learning skills to Uganda’s underserved primary schools.
Our History
In 2020, our founder, Martha Ayikiriize, became a Teach For Uganda fellow in Eastern Uganda. She experienced the learning crisis firsthand, teaching children in primary 4,5 and 6 who could barely read three-letter words.
In 2023, after completing her fellowship, she volunteered to teach reading in nearby public schools. She soon realized that she couldn’t personally teach every child how to read. As a result, she founded Kach-up Learning Hub to provide training for teachers, as they have direct contact with the learners.
In 2024, Kach-up Learning Hub received a D-Prize education challenge award to pilot the Teaching at the Right Level methodology. .
How we work
We train primary school teachers from public and low-cost private schools on targeted play-based teaching methods.
We provide the teachers with curated teaching and learning materials.
We provide ongoing mentorship and support to ensure that their classroom instruction is effective.
